In all honesty, the first time the word "social engagement" crossed my mind, all i imagined it to be was a situation where you visit old folks' home/orphanages and things like that. However, as for my group, we had the chance to mentor a group of 4 high school students along with their school teacher for an innovation program called "BEGIN Challenge". This was totally different to the "social engagement" i had imagined in the first place. And i'm ecstatic to mention that this was certainly one of the greatest moments in my second year university life. BEGIN Challenge is a yearly innovation challenge organized by Tuanku Bahiyah Residential College and co-organized by Faculty of Engineering, UM. This challenge is all about innovating one's ideas and turning it into a working prototype.
